MARY JOHNSON
Mary was from Stirling, but was an active, enthusiastic Team member nonetheless. Before festivals, she often raided the dollar store for unique treats for her team-mates. These included pink boas, wigs, hats with mosquito net attached and pouches for valuables that could be worn around the neck.
Mary felt that she gained strength, security and self-control through her racing with the Survivor Thrivers. She attributed these benefits to increased awareness, appreciation and the experience of associating with a group of women she came to like and admire. |
